Trauma & Somatic Healing Intensives in Colorado Springs

(Extra Days may be added)

An immersive reset for your nervous system, your story, and your life

Unresolved challenges—persistent intrusive thoughts, looping anxiety, shame, or fear—can quietly sabotage your success in every area of life. They show up in your career, parenting, partnership, health, and even your relationship with yourself.

If you’ve done the work—read the books, tried weekly therapy, or “understand your patterns”—but still feel stuck, this intensive is designed to catalyze profound, lasting change in a short period.

The Somatic intensive retreat is held in Colorado Springs and supports clients traveling from Denver, the Front Range, and out of state.

In just two days, you can begin to shift patterns you’ve struggled with for decades.

WHO THIS HELPS

You may benefit from a trauma intensive if you're struggling with:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • PTSD or unresolved trauma

  • Childhood emotional wounds

  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating

  • Burnout and nervous system exhaustion

  • Persistent shame or self-criticism

  • Grief and loss

  • Difficulty feeling safe, connected, or present

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TWO-DAY INTENSIVE

A typical intensive may include:

  • Guided Somatic EMDR sessions

  • Somatic coaching and body awareness exercises

  • Nervous system regulation techniques

  • Gentle movement exercises

  • Trauma-informed bodywork (if appropriate)

  • Time for reflection, integration, and discussion

Each intensive is customized to your goals, history, and comfort level. Some clients can find this amount of focus to be too much. If this happens during your session, we can easily adapt on the fly to bodywork and modalities designed to reduce the stress of the intense approach we’ve been working on together.

Why an intensive instead of weekly sessions?

Here is What Some Clients have said.

“Transformational Weekend!!!
After years of trying different therapies, I never truly experienced lasting change until I started working with Mel. For the first time, I can genuinely feel and engage with my life—instead of just numbing myself and pushing emotions aside. Mel helped me recognize the patterns I used to protect myself from relationships and success. I am amazed by the person I’ve become compared to who I was just a year ago. Working with Mel has truly changed my life.”

— RACHEAL M.

“Transformative Weekend Intensive

After six months of seeing Mel online, I decided to dive into an intensive session. Throughout our time together, I gained skills and realized how my nervous system would shut down to protect itself during stress. Spending a weekend digging into these patterns really changed things for me. I feel like a completely different person now. I know I’ll need to keep practicing what I’ve learned and stay aware of my progress, but I can’t say enough good things about this experience. In just six months, this therapy has transformed me more than ten years of talk therapy ever could.”

— AUDREY S.

Traditional weekly therapy and coaching can be powerful, but they also have limits. Just as you start to open up or touch something deep, the hour is over—and your system closes back up again.

A 2-day intensive gives you:

  • Depth – Enough time for your nervous system to settle, open, and re‑pattern instead of just “checking in and checking out.”

  • Continuity – No waiting a week between sessions; each day builds directly on the last.

  • Focus – No distractions, no rushing; just you, your process, and skilled, compassionate support.

This is not a “quick fix.” It’s a concentrated, highly personalized container that accelerates work that might otherwise take months or years.

What makes this intensive different?

This retreat is an immersive, one‑on‑one experience that combines body‑based healing, somatic coaching, EMDR, Embodied movement, and nervous system education in a deeply supportive setting. You’ll be held in a confidential, vulnerable space where all of you are welcome—your fear, grief, anger, hope, and longing.

What’s included

1. Advanced therapeutic tools, all in one place
I bring the full range of my training and experience—from body‑based practices and traditional schooling to over three decades of personal and professional work—to meet you where you are.

2. Holistic mind‑body practices
Your retreat may include:

  • Somatic EMDR

  • Somatic coaching and inquiry-noticing felt sensation

  • Biodynamic craniosacral therapy

  • Trauma-informed therapeutic massage

  • Embodied movement

These modalities work together to calm your nervous system, help your body feel safe, and create space for real change.

3. Personalized trauma education & processing
You’ll learn how your nervous system has been protecting you, how shame and fear live in the body, and how you may be holding yourself “hostage” in loops of hypervigilance, collapse, or self‑attack. You’ll also receive practical tools to:

  • Sit with uncomfortable feelings without being overwhelmed

  • Interrupt old patterns as they arise

  • Choose new responses that align with who you want to be

4. Nature‑infused healing
Optional walks on a private trail system offer time to integrate, breathe, and reconnect with your own internal rhythm—often where the deepest insights land.

Is this intensive for you?

This program may be a fit if you:

  • Want focused, dedicated time with a coach to dismantle barriers in your relationships, work, parenting, or inner life

  • Have tried traditional therapy, but haven’t experienced the depth of change you crave

  • Are you ready to address painful or traumatic experiences that keep resurfacing

  • Since you’re meant for more, but something inside keeps pulling you back into the same old reactions, stories, or behaviors

  • Are you truly ready to invest in yourself—emotionally, energetically, and financially?

If you feel a mix of nervousness and hopefulness reading this, you’re in the right place.

Why act now?

Postponing healing has a cost. It shows up as:

  • Ongoing stress and conflict in your closest relationships

  • Opportunities you don’t take because fear is driving the bus

  • Addictive or numbing behaviors that keep you from feeling fully alive

This intensive is a powerful investment in your future self—a focused opportunity to finally understand the patterns that keep you thinking, feeling, and behaving the same way, and to start shifting them for good.

If you’re tired of circling the same mountain, this is your invitation to walk a different path.

Schedule & structure

We’ll design your intensive together based on your needs. A typical format:

  • Length: 2 days or longer

  • Hours: Between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., often scheduled over a weekend.

  • Daily structure:

    • Approximately five hours of therapeutic work each day

    • Built‑in breaks for rest, nourishment, and integration

    • Lunch on your own or shared time, depending on what feels most supportive

    • Light evening journaling or reflection assignments to deepen your process

Throughout the intensive, you have my undivided attention. We move at your pace, always honoring your nervous system and capacity.

Investment & payment

I operate on a private‑pay basis and do not accept insurance.

  • Payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, HSA, debit, cash, and Venmo

  • Options to pay over time

  • A deposit is required to reserve your dates and ensure the time is held exclusively for you

This is a significant investment—in your healing, your relationships, and the life you want to live from here forward.

Follow‑up care

Your integration is just as important as your intensive. Before you return home, we’ll co‑create a follow‑up plan tailored to you. This may include:

  • Additional coaching or somatic sessions (online or in person)

  • Self‑regulation practices to use daily

  • Reading or journaling prompts to support ongoing integration

You won’t leave wondering, “Now what?” You’ll know exactly how to continue the work we began.

The somatic intensive retreat is held in Colorado Springs and supports clients traveling from Denver, the Front Range, and out of state.

  • Together, we’ll dig into your goals, maybe nervous system regulation around specific triggers, tools, and insight on changing challenging behavioral patterns, or Somatic EMDR intensives work to rewire your brain around traumatic events.

  • We will talk over what the day will look like, start time, meal breaks, snacks on hand to have, understanding that there is flexibility to shift and make changes in real time.

  • We are not working on sharing family history, understanding my practices, and feeling comfortable with one another; all that is done over one or two sessions before you come in. The entire intensive time is spent working towards your healing goals.
