Welcome to Embodied coaching

Meet Mel

Founder of Somatic Life Coaching, LLC, Colorado Springs.

I’m Mel, Founder of Somatic Life Coaching, LLC, offering trauma‑informed somatic life coaching and integrative bodywork in Colorado Springs, with online support available for clients in Denver and throughout Colorado.

My work lives at the crossroads of neuroscience, psychology, and spirituality. Over decades of practice, I’ve crafted an intentional, body‑based approach that helps people not just talk about change—but feel it, inhabit it, and live it.

How I got here

My path began with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Colorado. From there, I worked in:

  • Treatment centers for children

  • Eating disorder clinics

  • Clinics in the U.S. and abroad serving under‑resourced and mentally ill populations

These experiences showed me both the power and the limitations of traditional talk‑based models. I saw how many people understood their patterns intellectually but still felt trapped in them.

Curious about what truly supports lasting change, I turned to the body. Over the next two decades, I trained and became certified in:

  • Massage therapy

  • Breathwork

  • Reiki

  • Biodynamic craniosacral therapy

  • Mindfulness

  • Embodied movement

At the same time, I deepened my own inner life through daily Centering Prayer and meditation, grounding my work in a spiritual practice of stillness, compassion, and presence. Seeking even more complete support for trauma and long‑held patterns, I studied trauma resolution, sensorimotor and somatic experiencing approaches, and became a licensed psychotherapist.

I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of people as they come to understand their unique nervous systems, recognize the patterns they carry, and step into who they truly want to be.

How I work now

Today, coaching allows me to bring everything together—mind, body, and spirit—in a way that is forward‑moving and empowering. Instead of positioning myself as the expert who “fixes” you, I walk alongside you as a guide while you learn to:

  • Understand your emotional triggers and nervous system patterns

  • Stay present with uncomfortable feelings without being overwhelmed

  • Choose new responses instead of repeating old reactions

  • Unhook from beliefs that say you’re unworthy, too much, or not enough

I want you to experience a wholehearted life where:

  • No feeling is off‑limits

  • No memory has the power to derail you

  • No negative belief quietly runs your life from the background

You can learn to see how you keep yourself stuck—and then, with support, move through what once felt like your biggest demons with more grace, self‑awareness, and compassion.

When that happens, life doesn’t just “improve.” It begins to unfold in a way that feels more spacious, meaningful, and deeply your own.

An invitation

In‑person sessions are available in Colorado Springs, and virtual somatic coaching sessions are available for clients in Denver and across the United States.

If something in you recognizes yourself in these words—if you’re tired of circling the same patterns and feel ready for a different kind of support—I’d be honored to connect.

Together, we can explore what your nervous system has been trying to tell you, and how you’d like the next chapter of your life to feel.
