How to Become More Authentic

We live in an age where the topic of authenticity is prevalent in podcasts, books, and therapy modalities. But how many of us have indeed delved into the definition of authenticity? And how many of us have taken the steps to understand the skills and possible therapy needed to be more authentic?

The definition of authenticity when it comes to self is

not false or imitation and/or

true to one's personality, spirit, or character.

Everyone entering my office is searching for a more authentic version of themselves.

One of the critical pathways to authenticity is gaining knowledge and experience in navigating our nervous systems.

With the guidance of a practiced Somatic therapist, sitting in stillness, noticing sensations, labeling your sensations, and staying curious is a great way to start. Many exercises and stillness approaches, under the expert guidance of a therapist, help us gain information about what we are still holding in our nervous systems. The more information we have about how we respond to things and why, the more we can lean into knowing ourselves.

To be more authentic, you must know yourself on the deepest level. That means embracing the feelings you have been running from or stuffing for years. Somatic therapy, a safe and secure process, helps us do this. I have years of experience assisting people to become more authentic.

Remember, the first step towards your authentic self is just a consultation away. Whether online or in person, these consultations are free.
