Challenging Core Beliefs in Somatic Therapy

Every person alive has a set of core beliefs about themselves, whether they are conscious of it or not.

Usually, we have a mixture of positive and negative but tend to base our thoughts mainly on the unconscious negative ones.

My clients are often surprised when I tell them that the negative core belief they have been holding for a long time is a blatant lie.

Primarily these beliefs lie around worth, likability, and do they deserve love.

I do not care what behaviors you have displayed on your road to finding yourself sitting across from me; you deserve all of the above.

You are likable, lovable, and are worthy.

Feeling this way is a sad place to live and spend our time as humans.

If you feel unworthy, you will undoubtedly make unconscious choices about friends, jobs, spouses that reiterate this belief.

If you believe you are unlovable, you will possibly destroy your body with addictions, make decisions about safety that are questionable, or seek people who tell you this about yourself as friends.

Feeling into your body where you hold and keep sacred this space of unworth is what has to happen to change it permanently.

There are many ways to get to the root of the core belief stillness, following sensation, hypnosis, visualization, movement, and in my office, we will try them all until we find the way that works best for you.

Core beliefs can be changed and permanently shifted with Somatic therapy.
