Embrace Stillness to Wake Up
I am learning to be awake in any situation. Being awake is ridiculously tricky. I want to say when I get up at 5:30 I exercise like a fiend, but I usually sip my tea, meditate and write.
I want to be more physically active, but I also love it when everyone is asleep and just breathing the quiet. This time almost every day helps prepare me to be aware of my emotions more consistently throughout the day.
“Without stillness, I get caught up in my head, and I don’t listen to my heart all day. ”
With meditation, I remind myself of who I am and how I am feeling, so when I bump into my stuff, which I regularly do, I can react with a bit more calm.
In therapy, I have people notice and embrace their stillness so they can learn to listen to themselves.
Touching quiet helps us find our Divine nature and reminds us that we are all connected.
Even if you don't have s specific spiritual path, stillness will bring you more awareness of the moments in your life that should be treasured or released..
Take three minutes today and breathe in and out in total silence.
Don't read, listen to music or move.
Notice what this experience gives you.
More energy, calmer, clarity, ease, or are you uncomfortable?
Build a relationship of stillness with yourself and see what comes up and asks to be addressed.
All of this is information you did not have before the exercise.
What awareness have you gotten about yourself?
Sometimes all we need to do is give ourselves a moment, sense memory from the past and allow it to move on.
Come in and sit or lay down and teach yourself how to find your still point.
