How to Grieve a Relationship

Curl into the fetal position and cry.

When you want to be alone, reach out to someone who is safe.

Find a new hobby and do it regularly. Dance, climbing, art classes, yoga, wood working, piano lessons. The options are endless choose one and go for it.

Don’t date until you are healed.

Embrace being uncomfortable.

Go to bed two hours early.

Spend time in nature.

Visit a church sanctuary, synagogue, or temple during the middle of the day when it is empty and breathe.

There are groups for grief, divorce, service work, prayer, try one and see what fits.

Smile at someone you don’t know.

Get bodywork-choose a modality where you will be touched in a healthy, compassionate way.

Make eating healthy your new super power.

Breathe from your belly.

Visit a museum

Make a list of where and who you want to be one year from now.

Journal

Cry in the shower.

Set a timer for five minutes a day to just sit with your feelings.
