Change by Stepping into Worth
The one belief all of us have as we search ourselves in therapy is that we are not worthy.
Unworthiness comes in different degrees for all of us.
It depends on how deep the wound to determine the damage done, but just the thought creates separation from our wholeness.
Clients ask me how I can be calm in today's world and know that I am worthy of love.
Here is how.
I believe in the inherent goodness of humanity. Yes, even in our current climate, I recognize human kindness and the miraculousness of creation daily.
I believe I am loved and adored as is by a force that links everyone and everything in the universe.
I believe we are meant to see ourselves as whole beings, the light and the dark, the sad and the joyful, the fearful, and the brave.
I understand that Without recognizing all these dichotomies, we would be excluding essential parts of our true essence.
I wake up every day and know in my soul, not just my head, that millions of people are doing their best to create a good life for themselves and those they love.
I believe every person has worth, value, goodness, and beauty.
Because of these beliefs, I can get out of bed and raise my child in a world that I know intrinsically contains love.
Do I do this perfectly and live these beliefs all the time? Absolutely not.
Did I need to forgive, hold, and sit with my darkness to get here? Yes.
Through Somatic work, I have physically felt my worth and can lead myself home to the sensation that always dwells within.
