Are You Stuck?

I work with a lot of people. Some stay with their sessions, some pop in and out, and some give up. I am not talking about the clients for whom there is a mismatch; someone else is a better fit. I am talking about the clients who come excitedly for several sessions and then ghost me. Many people have a nervous system pattern in which making progress or realizing their potential becomes an alarm and needs more patience. They are more comfortable holding onto this old pattern.

When we consciously create new neural pathways or neuroplasticity, something in our brain moves us toward manifesting who we want to be. One of two things happens: We lean into the new neural pathway, trying to form and do the work, or we can let our old thought patterns, habits, and beliefs win out. This looped thinking takes us back to what we have subconsciously believed: We do not deserve whatever we want. At this point, some clients leave the process.

Once we find ourselves trapped in our old loop, it can be challenging to break free. However, with self-awareness and the guidance of a skilled Somatic therapist, we can stay on track and accountable. This support is crucial as we form new neural pathways, helping us turn away from old ways of thinking and behaving. This process is called neuroplasticity.

Neuroplasticity, despite its complex-sounding name, is actually a simple concept. It's all about our brain's remarkable ability to change and adapt. To tap into this potential, all we need is awareness, repetition, and patience.

I know and teach these skills, and I've led many people to more rewarding, self-aware, self-compassionate lives.

While it may feel challenging and require patience, somatic therapy can lead to profound transformations. It may seem like nothing is happening at first, but then, suddenly, you'll notice a shift. This is the power of somatic therapy, which can change your life.
